Statement:

The work in this series, Machine Interventions, began to develop in March 2020 as I was exploring a machine learning, or artificial intelligence, platform to create new work. After initial experimentation, I chose to create a wholly unique data set of images for training, most of my personal artwork archive from the past thirty-four years including undergraduate and graduate school work and most from my professional studio practice. These images are from the first and second full-length trainings, which selectively curated the data sets to affect the generated visual compositions. Thematically I investigate and explore the ways that human perception has interacted with and has been affected and altered by technology.
