The images I make are unplanned and improvised. I work spontaneously and tend to work on multiple pieces at the same time. Typically, I am terrible with organization, including but not limited to arranging my materials.
What I mean by this I is rarely feel prepared to make anything, and I just use whatever I can find on hand at the moment. I'm largely self taught and increasingly my work feels experimental to me, which is very uncomfortable for me to make sometimes and occasionally defeating.
I believe in creating a space to allow something to happen that is unplanned, as the joy of making art, for me, is the space between the intention and the unknown.
Most of the pieces pictured here were made late last year, in a state of near mania. I can credit them with saving my sanity in a time of great duress.
My current projects include a book of personal artifacts, a commission for a NY collector, a series of limited prints for Twyla and designing some clothing.
