Tipton Gallery (ETSU) / 126 Spring St., Johnson City, TN March 25 - April 12th

Delaney Rogers

ETSU Department of Art & Design and Slocumb Galleries present ENDO/EXO, an MFA Thesis Exhibition by Delaney Rogers at Tipton Gallery from March 25 to April 12, 2024 with a public reception on April 5th from 6-8 pm.

ENDO/EXO is an exhibition about internal and external struggles with social pressures and normativity and how our social environment impacts us. These concepts are illustrated through the artist’s personal life narratives using a library of symbolic visual language.

Delaney Rogers is an interdisciplinary visual artist living and working in Johnson City,
TN. She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts from Murray State University and is currently a
Master of Fine Arts candidate at East Tennessee State University. Her work discusses internal issues of emotional wellness and social issues of pressure and normativity. Rogers’ work focuses on using symbols as a means of visual communication. The seemingly friendly symbols, which drip with commodity, are a means of communication that masks their ugly truths, just as one may smile to be polite but not out of sincerity. Rogers uses repetition and layering to represent artistic and emotional processing.
