This new body of work brings attention to the lasting effects of colonization on Puerto Rico - most notably on the islands ecosystem.

BIOLUMINESCENCE is also inspired by sci-fi lit, Tennessee plants and @yaniravissepo’s dual identities - her childhood in PR and later life in the American south.
