THE ABILITY TO SEE GHOSTS
Zeitgeist Gallery / 516 Hagan St., #100 May 3 - 31st
Alicia Henry, Gloria Holwerda-Williams, Jinnie Seo, Christina Haglid
Zeitgeist is pleased to present The Ability to See Ghosts. This ensemble exhibition was curated last spring by Alicia Henry (1966-2024), beloved artist and Language and Art professor at Fisk University. Alicia said that she envisioned an opportunity to exhibit with her three dear friends and fellow artists: Gloria Holwerda-Williams, Jinnie Seo, and Christina Haglid, and suggested it at Zeitgeist for the spring of 2025.
“The Ability to See Ghosts is an exhibition of works revealing old, new, lost, found, seen, and unseen sensibilities. The artists capture how we all, in our works, express our presence: that which might be inextricably human and that which binds us all to our natural environments.” -Gloria Holwerda-WilliamsAlicia always had a lavender plant which has many medicinal applications and mythical stories.
One of which is: when inhaled one can see ghosts.
Thank you to Gloria Holwerda-Williams, Jinnie Seo, Christina Haglid and the Henry family for working with us to make this exhibition possible. We are honored to host this special exhibition curated by Alicia celebrating art and friendship.
