SEAN RIPPLE: DANGLING REFERENCES

Neue Welt / 507 Hagan St. June 7 - 29th (Reception: June 7 5:00pm - 9:00pm)

Sean Ripple

Neue Welt is pleased to present Sean Ripple: dangling references.

Where are we?
Are you there?

Do these strings of characters compile into a heap of meaning that function as a prismatic fortification, or do they accumulate and bury you in the shifting sands of syntax?

Are we the cashless glittering mass enmeshed in a weave of recombinant code at the request of the qkuienegn, or are we merely the unpaid fleshy slop that coats the arms of industry?

Perhaps eternity is a state of perpetual irrelevance… a sea of meaning pointing to an abyss that constantly beckons? Sean Ripple is an artist, writer, and curator based in Austin, TX. His projects are often improvisational and interventionist in nature and rely heavily on social media and the Internet to frame the outcomes of a feverish dedication to an idea. Recent projects have explore a perceived lack of commitment to interactivity and participation across a number of digital platforms as well as the destabilization of meaning that seems to trail technological innovation and advancement.

Sean Ripple: dangling references opens Saturday, June 7th 5-9 PM, during the Wedgewood-Houston Art Crawl.
