*uter(us) is a series of letterpress prints and artists' books by Sarah Matthews, created at Hatch Show Print in Nashville, Tennessee. The project examines women's health through the language of medicine, exploring the words and phrases physicians and nurses use when speaking to patients. It also addresses critical issues including period poverty, the maternal mortality crisis, the pink tax, and reproductive healthcare.

She holds an MA in Art & the Book from the Corcoran College of Arts and Design at George Washington University, an MBA with a Marketing Concentration, and a BS in Sociology from Bowie State University. Her works are part of prestigious collections at institutions including the National Museum of African American History & Culture Library and Yale’s Beinecke Rare Book and Manuscript Library. Matthews teaches Artist Books at the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA) and bookbinding and printmaking classes.
