SARAH HART LANDOLT: REJOICE!
The Browsing Room Gallery (Downtown Presbyterian Church) / 154 Rep. John Lewis Way N. May 8 - June 14th (Reception: May 9 6:00pm - 9:00pm)
Sarah Hart Landolt
Artist Statement:
Rejoice! — for my artist studio at Downtown Presbyterian Church. For giant studio windows. For painting messy drafts in pure delight. For the emergence of the final presentation.
Rejoice! — for early daffodils, iridescent irises, fragrant magnolias and lilies—seasonal memory and annual amnesia, as if each spring arrives for the first time.
Rejoice! — for dual practice: software engineering manager and artist. Structure and spontaneity. Hard-won stability.
Rejoice! — for my love & muse, Jordan Hampton. For his compositions, and for a shared creative current between sound and paint.
Rejoice! — for life is blooming.
Artist Bio: Sarah is an abstract, fluid ink artist and Software Engineering Manager based in Nashville. She has been an artist-in-residence at Downtown Presbyterian Church since 2019. Her work explores color, movement, and emotional resonance through fluid ink forms.
About the Gallery: The Browsing Room is a non-commercial gallery created in the space of the historic Downtown Presbyterian Church's old congregational library. The gallery serves as an extension of DPC’s long standing studio community known as the Artists in Residence (AIR) who have studio spaces above DPC’s chapel. The Browsing Room connects an art-seeking community with their AIR, as well as with other local and regional artists, by featuring a rotation of quarterly exhibitions. The gallery is currently open by appointment only.
