“Born in 1958 in Columbus Ohio I have felt the gift of being an artist from the beginning. I did it for fun and expression and grownups and children liked it. I played sports- I was the self-acclaimed tetherball champ in grade school and in my teens, I became a good golfer. High School art classes turned me off so I did less for a while but felt I was still improving in my mind. I went to Ohio State to play golf on the team. We were the best team in the North and in 1979 we won the N.C.A.A. I picked art as a major and fell back in love with it. I played on the P.G.A. tour in 81 -82 but was one of the worst of the best and ended up going to grad school for a place to paint. I didn't care about the degree, just a place to paint. I tried living off my art sales on and off for years but the pressure of being poor seemed unfair to my art. Luckily I ended up slowly becoming a fix up man to help pay for life. I've been showing since 1979 and selling since 1983. I don't count but I would guess there are well over 1000 pieces of mine all over the world.” - Rick Borg
