Nathaniel Covington will open his second solo exhibit entitled Creatures at Modfellows Art Gallery showing his brightly colored sculpted papier-mâché and bold line paintings on canvas. Nathaniel’s work continues to pay homage to all things monster… creature feature movies, comic strips, trading cards and toys. His style can be described as 21st century folk art starring non-human terrestrial or extra-terrestrial villains. Nathaniel creates each piece as if he was making it for his own personal collection, which isn’t too far from how the papier-mâché pieces started 4 years ago. There’s no political statement, no hidden meaning – just a technicolor escape from reality.
