MIKE KLUGE: ALGORITHMIC BASED VIDEO SYSTEM

COOP Gallery / 507B Hagan St September 2, 2017 - September 23, 2017

Mike Kluge

On Saturday, September 2, COOP Gallery presents Mike Kluge. His installation will include a realtime algorithmic based video system.

More about Mike:
"MKAV is a multi-media artist that uses sound, space, light, video, and interactivity to construct environments both analog & digital. The best example of this to date is "Consonance & Chaos"; a full room installation commissioned by Concept56 for "Retrograde", a one night only event crafted for 6 months by a creative team in Nashville. In 2016, MKAV also received "Best Video Installation" award by The Nashville Scene for his work "LIVING ROOM"; an audio/visual based feedback environment, that attempted to simulate a form of consciousness in inanimate hardware and software. In September, "Sum + From - Non" (an algorithmic composition that starts from a sine wave and builds into a massive orchestration) will be premiered at COOP Gallery at the Wedgewood Houston art crawl. The goal of these installations is to inspire and entertain emerging forms of media in a way that resonates with the human condition. When a participant leaves an MKAV installation, the hope is that they are stimulated by possibility, touched by imagination, and eager to experience it all again."
