During Artville COOP is also pleased to present Microcinema: A Festival of Short films. Microcinema is an experimental film and video festival featuring films 15 minutes or less. This year the screenings will take place outdoors at COOP in Nashville, TN over the three nights Artville beginning at 6:30pm. Additional films and programs will occur in the gallery during the day from 12pm–5pm.

Microcinema features work by independent film/video artists from Tennessee and beyond. The goal of our microcinematic event is to share a range of artistic expressions, cultural perspectives, and critical inquiries with Nashville's creative community. The event will feature evening screenings of over thirty short films, along with filmmaker introductions and other programming. Seven awards will be handed out, including the Best of Show and Critic’s Choice awards.

Programming will include a film and dance performance by NUMINOUS FLUX; a film and discussion with Joe Nolan about his book, Nowville: The Untold History of Nashville’s Art Scene; animation workshops, and a film and discussion with filmmaker and poet, Dr. Tom Hunley.
