As winter settles in, it feels good to bring in a taste of grounding nature from Judith Fox-Fleisser.

I began seeing Judith almost everywhere I went a couple of years ago. I made a joke to a friend that maybe she was an angel. Since then I’ve gotten to know Judy and the more I do, the more I appreciate the privilege. Imagine my delight when she began sharing her drawings and sculptures with me. Much like the woman herself, the work is deceptively powerful - there’s a complex rigidity and directness with which she handles the most delicate subject matter, giving it tooth and poetry. I’m happy to release a small collection of her shellac-based ink nature drawings this month.
