JANUS
ZeiherSmith / 1207 South St. July 18 - August 16th
Layo Bright, Jonathan Edelhuber, Henrik Godsk, Kimia Ferdowsi Kline, Dan Mandelbaum, Dana Robinson, Joseph Olisaemako Wilson, Joji Yakamurae
At a time of division, we present a group show named for the Roman god, Janus, who is traditionally represented by two heads for his ability to see both the past and the future. See below for Scott’s take on Janus.
We’ve invited the following eight artists who privilege the figure and specifically the human head to contribute two faces to this exhibition, echoing the ancient god of change: Layo Bright, Jonathan Edelhuber, Henrik Godsk, Kimia Ferdowsi Kline, Dan Mandelbaum, Dana Robinson, Joseph Olisaemako Wilson, and Joji Yakamura. Some are artists we have previously worked with, while others are among the most exciting voices we’ve encountered in the past year in the international art world.
Several artists will be on hand at our opening reception this Friday July 18, 5-7 pm. Otherwise, come see the show during regular hours (W-S, 10-5) or contact us for an online preview.
