INTERPRETATION: WORDS AND FIGURES

Turnip Green Creative Reuse / 407 Houston St. May 4, 2019 - May 5, 2019

Kelly Tipler, John Hood

In keeping with TGCR’s mission, all of the artwork was created using found and repurposed materials, while all of the poems and stories were printed on recycled/reused paper.

Avid art collectors themselves, Tipler and Hood understand the importance of affordable art for beginning collectors, so as part of the show they have created Limerick Land. This fantastical area is populated by Limmerkins, small affordable art pieces with an accompanying limerick.

About Kelly Tipler:
Kelly Tipler has a passion for non-profit service, largely focusing on community organization. She co-founded several non profits in the Nashville community and currently works for Metro Public Works. She has always been creative, but found what motivates her the most is using things in her work that may be viewed as useless or undesirable. Her inspirations include her husband, two kids, and many dogs they’ve had in their life. She surrounds herself with creative projects, ever-changing gardens, and others that strive for passion and purpose in life.

About John Hood:
Writer, poet, caramel corn maker, aerial banner painter, magazine publisher, biscuit maker (what up Bojangles!), journalist, copywriter, U.S. Army veteran, forklift operator, damaged package inspector, record label owner, digital marketing director -- John Hood has almost certainly had more jobs than you. He keeps coming back to words and the curation of them as his favorite job.
