HERITAGE: SOUTHERN VERNACULAR

Join Haley Gallery at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum for Heritage: Southern Vernacular, an exhibit featuring quilts made by women in the Gee’s Bend community of Alabama, as well as sculptures and two-dimensional works from Black vernacular artists also associated with the state—Richard Dial, Thornton Dial, Charlie Lucas, and Mose Tolliver.

Thursday, November 7, at 3:30 PM Panel Discussion: Gee's Bend Quilters

Gee's Bend quilters Loretta Pettway Bennett, Claudia Pettway Charley, and Marlene Bennett Jones will participate in a panel discussion moderated by guest curator Paul Barrett in the Ford Theater. This event is free and open to the public, but ticket reservations are encouraged.
