Neue Welt is pleased to present Compressor by Hammet Reavis.

Compressor features new work by artist Hammet Reavis, eliciting jump scares through the presentation of subtly altered found objects. Through the lenses of these works, Reavis's own obsessions and desires are held at a nearly inaudible fever pitch, until their tensions are quietly released and swing back into frequencies of repulsion and unease.

Hammet Reavis (b. 1987, Nashville, TN) is a sculptor based in Sewanee, Tennessee. He is a recent graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University, where he earned an MFA in Sculpture + Extended Media (2026) as a two-time recipient of the Paul F. Miller Graduate Scholarship in Sculpture. He also holds a BFA in Sculpture with a minor in Art History from the Herron School of Art and Design, Indianapolis (2010).
