DANCE IN THE WATERFALL
The Red Arrow Gallery / 919 Gallatin Ave. , Suite #4 March 2 - 30th
Ashanté Kindle, Benji Anderson, Brianna Bass, Jeremy Shockley, Kelly Williams, Wansoo Kim
Red Arrow presents Dance in the waterfall a survey of six artists exploring themes of psychedelia, optical illusion, cosmic connection and utilizing dream like imagery in their work. Artists have been exploring these themes for generations while scientific discoveries in these fields are just catching wind. This exhibition proposes the question of how art can express the magic of alchemy and employ other worldly experiences for the viewer.
“Nature loves courage. You make the commitment and nature will respond to that commitment by removing impossible obstacles. Dream the impossible dream and the world will not grind you under, it will lift you up. This is the trick. This is what all these teachers and philosophers who really counted, who really touched the alchemical gold, this is what they understood. This is the shamanic dance in the waterfall. This is how magic is done. By hurling yourself into the abyss and discovering it's a feather bed.”
