It’s that time of year again! For well-on 30 years DLG has pulled together an August smorgasbord exhibition. This year, tune in for DAILY ART SUMMER CAMP, a 31-day online exhibition tutorial with a one-a-day art focus.

Here’s how it works: each Tuesday, an evite goes out listing the artists with pieces available that week; each day, a new piece goes live on the website at 6am for 24 hours with interesting factoids and a corresponding Instagram Live spot. Act fast: just like always, works range wildly in price point, medium, and style, but all are connected in a hot Southern summer kind of way.

This year, the DLG Gang is heading to (their version of) summer camp for the month, and you can tag along on IG Live. No sleeping bag necessary. For those Lives, David and Lees will be hosting conversations with interior designers, collectors, and artists in Memphis and Nashville, talking through process, inspiration, and what to expect this fall. Visits to studios and workspaces with that week’s pieces might give everyone a few more ideas. Much like your favorite days at camp, there will be letters home, a rummage through Lost & Found, arts and crafts, and the great outdoors.

Carpenter Art Garden, a Memphis nonprofit serving the children of the Binghampton neighborhood through art, gardening, tutoring, and vocational programs, will join us on 26 aug. Their Summer Art Exhibition showcases work they’ve made after inspiring trips to the galleries and studio visits with Catherine Erb and Tad Lauritzen Wright.

Both galleries are open through the summer and always up to something - come on down. We’ll be rotating pieces on the walls every couple of weeks, and don’t forget about John Roberts’ Artist Talk for THE LONG PASSOVER happening 5 aug at 1p. We’ll keep you cool during the dog days of summer.
