Craft Night began as a simple recurring gathering where friends got together, hung out, and made things. Craft night is a space for pumpkin carving, rampant creativity, and complex artistry. Craft Night: The Show is inspired by the free exploration of creativity a relaxed environment provides. It takes its place in the intersection of fine art and craft; where the boundaries blur between traditional gallery art and the crafty, hands-on projects we create among friends. This show delves into the discourse of craft and fine art, witnessing two worlds collide.
Craft Night: The Show explores non-traditional art forms alongside traditional disciplines–through technique, medium, and concept. It displays how the artists’ interpretations interact in the realm of expression. The exhibition features the work of twelve Nashville based artists and creatives.
In addition to showcasing individual works of art, we transformed the gallery itself, exchanging the white gallery wall for a cozy room filled with color and life utilizing found objects. An assortment of trinkets and furniture create an immersive and welcoming environment. We explore the viewers' perception of what art can be.
