CONVERGE ART MARKET: OCTOBER EDITION

CONVERGE / 1224 Martin St. October 7, 2017 - October 7, 2017

Tony Perrin of Lock and Key, Alysha Irisari Malo

For the August, September, and October 'Arts and Music at Wedgewood-Houston' events we are initiating a pop up CONVERGE Art Market, an idea developed from our ongoing Neighborhood Design Workshop series. This market will activate an underutilized intersection in the heart of our neighborhood as part of a larger visioning process that studies opportunities for encouraging more active and engaging public spaces. It also serves as an affordable incubator for creative makers who would like to sell work to the public. The market will be set up at the intersection of Martin and Humphreys Streets, at the sidewalk in front of CONVERGE. We invite participating vendors to sell unique, handmade, functional and fine art. The market will run for three months as part of a series of Wedgewood-Houston Neighborhood Design Events initiated by CONVERGE.

A different selection of local artists will be featured at each event. Our October Edition will feature handmade jewelry pieces by Lock and Key that combine bead weaving and sculptural elements of solid bronze or sterling silver; photography, paintings, and mixed media works by Alysha Irisari Malo; and more! Sketches from our Neighborhood Design Workshops will also be on view inside the building. Refreshments will be provided.

Please join us and support local artists and makers!
