Briena Harmening

About the Exhibit: Tennessee native and Nashville based artist, Briena Harmening (b.1980) is an interdisciplinary artist and arts educator. Her work uses text to explore autobiography, politics, and southerness while using everyday and nostalgic materials as surfaces. Briena graduated with an MFA from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Recently, her work has been exhibited at Strata Gallery, Santa Fe, NM, and Gallery 130 Oxford MS. Upcoming: Note to Self a small group exhibition at Florida Gulf Coast University, Fort Myers, FL. Oct. 17th - Nov. 21st.
