BRADY HASTON: OPTIMIST'S JOURNEY
David Lusk Gallery Nashville / 516 Hagan St. September 7 - 29th
Brady Haston
Zeitgeist is pleased to present Optimist's Journey, new work from Brady Haston, opening September 7, 5-8pm. It will be on view September 7 - 29, 2024. We'll be open extended hours September 27-29 for Artville. Statement:
My recent work draws on different interpretations of landscape and how spaces change as they wait for the arrival or departure of someone. Pieter Brugel’s Large Landscape print series from the 16th century, 19th century illustrations from Harper’s New Monthly Magazine, and recent accounts of the curious interstellar object, Oumuamua, travelling through our solar system have influenced this work. We are all passing through this place and time. On our travels, we are often between destinations and these structures can seem to be the only stable place in a changing landscape. On the Optimist’s Journey, the archetypical traveler exists in the liminal space of arriving and departing knowing that the final destination is always a bit further along.
