ANDREW COMBS: SKIM THE SKY
Julia Martin Gallery / 444 Humphreys St. October 3 - 31st (Reception: October 3 5:00pm - 9:00pm)
Andrew Combs
In my minds eye I sometimes see The brightest star standing In front of me.
And I think… I’ll take it.
Then I start to think I won’t.
Oh, to skim the sky — I do. And I don’t.
In the scrape of life, I sometimes feel My ego slip And the truth revealed.
And for a moment, I find The line
With no way to tell how long this will last Or when I should drop this whole carnival act
And I think I can fake it.
Then, like hell I don’t. To skim the sky — I will. And I won’t.

Bio
Originally from Dallas TX, I moved to Nashville TN in 2006 to pursue a career in music. In addition to writing, recording and touring, I've grown increasingly more interested in visual forms of expression. Acrylic and oil painting, combined with woodworking, have led to creating what a friend coined as "tangible surrealism".
