"Titled after playwright Samuel Beckett’s quote, “Try again. Fail Again. Fail Better”, this collection of work is a glimpse into my new journey as a visual artist. These pieces, made over the course of a year, show my exploration of materials, techniques, and varying subject matter in both painting and woodwork. I picked up a paint brush 7 years ago looking for a creative outlet while I was not writing songs and found this form of expression cleaner and clearer than anything I had felt in a while. I don’t want to live in a state of complacency, comfort or fear of change. I’d prefer to push myself to try new and interesting things, even if the process is scary. Sometimes I fail. Sometimes I fail better." - Andrew Combs
