A SHAMAN KNEW MS. STORM

Tibbott Center Gallery (University School of Nashville) / 2000 Edgehill Ave. January 31, 2018 - March 15, 2018

Doris Wasserman
Shana Kohnstamm

The Tibbott Center Gallery is pleased to present a new exhibit featuring paintings and sculpture from two Nashville arists.

Doris Wasserman and Shana Kohnstamm met while serving on Nashville’s Art & Business Council's Periscope, which is designed as an Artist Entrepreneurship Training program. Their friendship grew out of a complete admiration for each other's work, so they are delighted to have an opportunity to exhibit together.

Both artists will be presenting fresh works for their exhibit, A Shaman Knew Ms. Storm. The title is an anagram of their last names. The show was installed at the end of January and a closing reception is scheduled for Thursday, March 8 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.

Wasserman's new series of paintings, "Stars Falling on Water," is specifically crafted for this exhibit and highlights her iconic style of mark making. Kohnstamm's work consists of vibrant three-dimensional felted sculpture and both traditional and non-traditional weaving.

The work will be on view through Thursday, March 15.
