The Art Museum of the University of Memphis cordially invites you to the grand opening of its new permanent African art exhibition Windows on Africa. This event is happening on Saturday, March 22nd from 3-5 p.m. in the Communication and Fine Arts Building 1st floor lobby and in 142.

Windows on Africa offers a glimpse into the visual expressions that have shaped, and continue to shape, African societies. At its core, African art embodies innovation and interpretation, reflecting a deep connection to spirituality, community, and the environment. Drawing from its expansive collection of traditional African artworks, AMUM invites you to explore the depth and diversity of African visual arts through five major thematic exhibitions: Architecture, Daily Life, Spirituality, Metal Arts and Masquerade. Embark on a journey to discover the stories and significance of Africa's rich artistic heritage.
