TOONKIFICATION: IN PROGRESS BY TOONKY BERRY

Stock&Bell / 387 S. Main St. January 31, 2020 - February 24, 2020

We’re so proud to host a rising star in the Memphis art community as our first featured artist of 2020: Quantavious Worship, a.k.a. “Toonky” Berry!

Toonky graduated from MCA with a degree in Illustration in 2017 – then, he became a professional muralist and designer. This is his first solo show.

You’ve seen his work all over Memphis. He’s completed over 20 murals here in the city, and designed graphics for Ghost River, Vice Virtue Coffee, Wok’n in Memphis, and Stardust Jiu-Jitsu. A few notable murals you might have seen are at Paula Raiford’s Disco, Young Avenue Sound, Lafayette’s, Rec Room, Mind Body Haus, Grizz Gaming, The Orion 5k, and on the Crumpy’s Wings and 9dough1 food trucks. His roots are just outside of Tupelo, where he’s completed 5 murals.

You might also know him for his involvement in the art community: He loves to collaborate with other artists and is also currently featured in a group exhibition at the CLTV.

In this show, Toonky will display fine art prints of his original illustrations, several paintings on canvas, as well as smaller, unframed prints, t-shirts, and stickers. All pieces are available for purchase through Stock&Belle.

Toonky has recently pushed his style to be more distinctive, while still working in an improvisational, “freestyle” method. Come meet him and support his work at the opening reception on Friday, January 31st, from 6PM-9PM.

The show will be on display in our gallery from January 27 until February 24. The gallery is open to the public during Stock&Belle’s regular business hours.
