Safe-Keeping is an exhibition exploring the effects of Mass Incarceration and the War on Drugs on the Black Community. The effects from the Nixon and Reagan administration on Black communities can be seen to this day. With the government aided flooding of Black neighborhoods with crack cocaine, the introductions of mandatory minimum sentence and private prisons, there became an added economic incentive to target people within these communities causing the imprisonment, deaths, and separations of generations of Black people and families.
