"I have been painting works on paper for over fifty years and recently I thought it might be time to review the output. As I made a stack of unsatisfactory piecesI decided - rather than destroy them - I might be able to use the parts that I really liked. As I began to cut the map art I saw the opportunity to create a whole new direction. The results created new imagery and relationships. They became much more sculptural and dynamic, but retain the painterly expressiveness that is such a part of my work." — RR 7/25
