Artist statement // One Good Eye

As I move through each day, doing what comes next, I tell myself the story of who I am. I'm someone who looks forward to naps with my dog where I dream of being on a full dance floor. But in my work, this personal narrative quiets down, making room for another part of me to step out of the shadows to take the reins. I call this faceless, formless presence "the seer." It is not a deity, but simply the purest part of my awareness. The work for One Good Eye emerged in the space between this quiet inner observer and the "me" of my everyday life.
