JUAN ROJO: EYE CANDY

The Gingerbread House in the Gardens of the Woodruff-Fontaine House / 680 Adams Ave., Memphis , TN April 14, 2019 - April 14, 2019

Juan Rojo

We are excited to announce Eye Candy, a solo exhibit by Juan Rojo. As an international artist, Rojo has been in numerous group and solo shows that have celebrated his extensive work as a painter dealing with the a contemporary treatment of the figure.

Eye Candy focuses on the repeating imagery that comes to life in a selection of Rojo’s work in paintings and in watercolors. His process is intertwined with the model, producing and revealing narratives through playful decoration. Focusing on the patterns that emerge, the exhibition underlines the duality they possess: as a vehicle for information that sits in the air around the model and as a tool to simply enhance an image.

The exhibit is running for only one night. It is located in the intimate Gingerbread House in the gardens of Woodruff-Fontaine House Museum on April 14th from 1-3PM. Admission to the exhibit is free and refreshments will be provided. Should you require more information, please don’t hesitate to contact Olivia Rowe, rowom-19@rhodes.edu.
