Urevbu Contemporary is pleased to announce its next exhibition, RE(de)FINED, by Johnson Uwadinma. This is Johnson's first solo exhibition in the United States and we are thrilled to showcase his recent artwork in the gallery on this Friday, March 31 from 6:30 pm.

Uwadinma reflects on the fraught, but integral relationship between humans and nature that is informed by his experiences in the Niger Delta, such as oil spills, pollution, and the consequences of climate change. The tensions between abundance, life, fecundity, and degradation, waste, and environmental disasters are the thematic concerns of RE(de)FINED.

The human form is central to Uwadinma’s practice, as he considers humanity’s stewardship of natural resources, for better and for worse.
