INVISIBLE MAN

TONE Memphis / 2234 Lamar Ave. June 8 - May 31st

We are delighted to announce the opening of TONE's latest exhibition, Invisible Man, on June 8th, 2024. This powerful and thought-provoking exhibition serves as a dynamic platform for artists to deconstruct and redefine the complex relationship between Black men and prevailing Western concepts of masculinity.

Invisible Man features a diverse array of works from talented artists who courageously explore themes of identity, resilience, and cultural reclamation. Through their art, these creators challenge stereotypes and offer nuanced perspectives on what it means to navigate Western society as Black men. The exhibition encompasses a wide range of mediums, including but not limited to painting, sculpture, photography, and multimedia installations, each piece contributing to a rich tapestry of voices and experiences.

This exhibition aims to foster a deeper understanding of the multifaceted identities of Black men and to spark meaningful conversations about the constructs of masculinity in contemporary culture. By providing a space for these critical dialogues, Invisible Man invites viewers to engage with the art on a profound level, encouraging empathy, reflection, and transformation.

The opening event on June 8th will be an evening to remember, featuring artist talks, interactive installations, and opportunities for attendees to connect with the artists and each other. We welcome you to join us in celebrating the creativity and courage of these remarkable artists and to partake in the vibrant exchange of ideas that "Invisible Man" is sure to inspire.
