EVERYDAY OBJECTS: THE EVOLUTION & INNOVATIONS OF JOSEPH ANDERSON
Metal Museum / 374 Metal Museum Dr. November 12, 2017 - April 22, 2018
As an artist-blacksmith and sculptor, Joseph Anderson is esteemed within the blacksmithing community for his early utensils that sold successfully at craft fairs and markets across the United States and later for his elegant linear sculptures, many depicting abstract bird forms. Anderson introduced creative contemporary designs to counter traditional styles of the period. This exhibition highlights his utensils: functional objects that are individually unique and embody Anderson's mastery of material and artistic style.
