BELOVED, QUIRKY, AND COVERED IN PAINT: PETER BOWMAN, 1942-2015

Memphis College of Art (MCA) will host a special cocktail reception in partnership with Memphis University School (MUS) to celebrate the works of the late Peter Bowman. Bowman, a graduate of the Memphis Academy of Arts (now MCA), taught at MUS for nearly 30 years before he passed away in 2015 after a battle with cancer, and was a beloved artist, teacher and friend in the Memphis community. Artwork will be available for purchase, and upon the gracious request of Beth Bowman, a portion of the proceeds will benefit MCA’s scholarship fund. C3Strings, a string trio with IRIS Orchestra, will provide musical entertainment for the evening. The reception is free to attend. Please RSVP to Holly Guthrie at hguthrie@mca.edu.
