41ST JURIED STUDENT EXHIBITION

Art Museum of the University of Memphis (AMUM) / 142 CFA Building, Memphis, TN February 3 - March 23rd

The Art Museum of the University is very excited for the opening of the 41st Juried Student Exhibition with Richard Echols as the exhibition’s guest juror. The exhibit features many gifted U of M students’ artwork. There will be an opening reception on Saturday, February 3rd from 3-5 pm located in the CCFA lobby and within Room 142, which is open and always free to the public.

Richard Jamal Echols is a multi-disciplinary artist predominately recognized as a painter. Richard is a proud native of Memphis, TN. Throughout his artistic journey, Richard has drawn inspiration from artists, musicians, movies, and most importantly life experiences. This has allowed him to develop a unique artistic voice that blends classic painting techniques with contemporary subject matters. Richard’s work has been exhibited at the Dixon Art Gallery, Brooks Museum, Crosstown Arts, Art Museum of the University of Memphis, and Memphis International Airport. In his ongoing artistic practice, Richard continues to explore the boundaries of painting, pushing the envelope and challenging conventional norms.
