Tri-Star Arts is pleased to present a site responsive pop-up exhibition titled .WAV by Wesley Roden (Knoxville, TN) in the carriage house at the historic Candoro Marble Building on Friday, November 14, 2025 from 5:00 until 8:00 pm (one night only).
Wesley Roden is a mixed media artist currently working in Knoxville, Tennessee. His work prior to 2019 consisted of narrative driven paintings in acrylic and ink, referencing illustrators and graphic novelists for their saturated pallets. After studying under Chattanooga-based muralists, he then adapted this language to portray regional narratives. In 2023, Wes received a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, where he worked under local artists to paint in response to audience and place. Thus, community building became a driving motivator in his current works, dubbed “architectural paintings.” Inspired by religious architecture, these multi-media installations question the divide between actual and illusory space under the aim of fostering communal space. Moreover, Wes continues to balance oil painting, digital animation, and installation, questioning the role of viewership and blurring the line between lived and imagined experience.
