WACKADOODLES: DREAMSCAPES AND ODDITIES BY MACIE BROWN AND LAUREN BOOKER
Gallery 1010 (UTK) / 100 S. Gay St. , Suite 114 September 12 - 14th
Macie Brown, Lauren Booker
Brown and Booker's exhibition concept includes creating art that depicts landscapes, oddities, and images that might be seen in dreams. Their fascination with abstract and surrealist art elements creates what they call, “weird, goofy art”--reflecting on the name Wackadoodles. Their exhibition also explores how color and texture can contribute to strangeness, weirdness, dreamlike states, or the act of being goofy. Furthermore, art that makes you look twice or forces your eye to find elements hidden in the work. This exhibition focuses on the question: What does strange even mean?
