Lynne Marinelli Ghenov makes drawings, collages, and works on paper using various substrates, such as photo paper, deconstructed vintage books, ledgers, graphs, and lined paper. Lynne's drawing process involves intuitive layering of elements such as graphite, colored pencils, markers, wallpaper decor, paint, and more. The gridded ledger or work-in-progress lined paper is printed on photo paper, becoming a compositional component of the drawing that gets obscured with diverse details. Lynne wields found rub-on wallpaper decorations as a drawing tool to explore the intersections, peripheries, and "play" of mark-making, collage, print, decoration, and pattern. The thematic concepts pull heavily from memory, loss, and the assembling of the present through summoning the past, forming a space that allows for an intuitive call and response between the found and the triggered in the imaginary.
