KAYLA RUMPP: IN//BETWEEN

Fluorescent Gallery / 627 N. Central St. March 3, 2017 - March 4, 2017

Kayla Rumpp

in//between is an exhibit of 2D and 3D works by Kayla Rumpp. In these works, not only the object itself, but the surface it interacts with, the space it consumes, and the depth and shadow it creates are all integral to the piece. These works exist somewhere between painting, sculpture, and installation. Materials range from paint, wood, fibers, foam, plastic, mirrors, sponges, paper, and animal hair.

Kayla Rumpp graduated with her BFA from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville in 2016. She lives and works in Knoxville, and will graduate with her MS in Art Education in 2017.
