KAI MOTE: POND//DREAMS

Ewing Gallery of Art + Architecture (UTK) / 1715 Volunteer Blvd. March 16 - 25th (Reception: March 20 5:00pm - 7:00pm)

Kai Mote

pond//dreams is an immersive installation that explores how environmental events and human interventions ripple across time. Drawing from the 2010 Nashville flood and more recent catastrophic flooding in Southern Appalachia, the work considers how Tennessee’s landscape has been shaped by extraction, damming, and industrial development, and how these actions mirror the ways power and care move through communities.
