Know Jehovah! is a body of paintings, drawings, and sculptures that address the artist’s religious identity as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. The past and present experiences of the artist and those who share his faith are examined, and questions about future acts of persecution are raised. Palmer’s work explores the difficulties of displaying faith, neutrality, courage, and morality in a world plagued by socio-political turmoil. The work serves the dual purpose of creating an awareness of religious persecution involving Jehovah’s Witnesses and encouraging those who are experiencing said hardships.
