Tamara Reynolds

Tamara Reynolds is a native of Nashville, Tennessee. After receiving her BFA from Middle Tennessee State University, she has spent more than 25 years as a commercial and editorial photographer for magazines and advertising agencies focusing on portraiture and lifestyle imagery. Her photography has received numerous awards and has been exhibited around the globe. She has also worked in film, shooting, directing and editing small documentary stories. Tamara was the director of photography for two short independent film titled “Don’t’ Wake the Baby” and “The Hair Cut.”

Her work in the Southern Route series, which she began in 2011, touches on issues of race, class and shifts in Southern society while preserving her subjects’ quiet dignity. The project documents Reynolds’s journey into the heart of the American South­ through heartbreakingly sincere portraits, candid flashes of daily life and haunting activated landscapes.
