SARA STRAUSSBERGER: EMERGENCE

Gallery 108 (Austin Peay State University) / 601 College St. October 17, 2016 - October 20, 2016

Sara Straussberger

On October 17th, Austin Peay State University graduating senior Sara Straussberger will present her Senior Thesis exhibition Emergence at APSU’s Gallery 108, located on the first floor of the Trahern Building. APSU’s Bachelor of Fine Arts program for Studio Art allows students to present their work in a public setting during Senior Thesis II.

Emergence is a body of work that includes photographs of constructed landscapes. The artist’s process transforms banal objects that would typically occupy a space of only two or three feet into vast natural landscapes. These objects no longer exist in an environment—they become the environment.

Sara Straussberger is a BFA student in the Department of Art and Design and a philosophical studies minor. This exhibition will be on view from Monday through Thursday the week of October 17th with a reception on Monday, October 17 from 5pm – 7pm. Gallery 108. It is free and open to the public.
