WHAT FREEDOM

Stove Works / 1250 E 13th St. July 8, 2022 - July 18, 2022

This exhibition will be themed around the experience of living as a person with multiple minority identities, and the intersections of those identities. How does being trans intersect with being disabled? How does being disabled intersect with being black? How does being black intersect with being a woman?

There is legislation being pushed to take rights against several minority groups; abortion rights are being reversed, it has recently become legal for border agents to arrest without a warrant within 100 miles of the U.S. border, and countless anti-trans bills have recently passed. Given the rise of hate in our current political climate, I believe it is crucial to give those who are being targeted a platform to share their experiences and feel heard.
