NO LONGER

Wavelength Space / 854 McCallie Ave. August 27, 2022 - September 17, 2022

No Longer is a show addressing and saving space for those impacted by miscarriage. Miscarriage is an incredibly isolating experience, one that society general acknowledges as an emotional event. The physical aspects of miscarriage is rarely talked about. Nearly 20% of known pregnancies lead to miscarriage.

Kirby curated this show by open call - specifically asking for artists who have experienced miscarriage to share work made during or around this incredibly difficult time. The hollowed out feeling, the loss of potential, the anger, the grief, the moving forward. Every entangled moment. This call asked for stories from artists and non-artists alike to share their experiences surrounding their specific miscarriage. These stories will be collected and included in printed form within the show.

Curated by Kirby Miles. Miles experienced a miscarrage with twin girls at 9w after undergoing in vitro fertilization in September of 2021.

Wavelength Space is an artist-run gallery in the heart of downtown Chattanooga, TN showing contemporary work by emerging to mid-career artists from around the U.S.

No Longer will be free and open to the public during the opening reception on August 27 from 5-8 and will be open-by-appointment through September 17, 2022. Bookings can be made via Wavelength Space’s Instagram (@wavelength_space) or in the "book a visit" tab above.
