MARIELLE PLAISIR: NO COLOR LINES
University Art Gallery (The University of the South) / 735 University Ave., Sewanee, TN January 17 - March 31st
In No Color Lines, Plaisir invites viewers into a lush and beautiful dream, and into an imagined world “without prejudice, discrimination, or acts of domination." The artist appeals to the imagination and senses of the viewer, and upends and erases hierarchies.
A French Caribbean artist raised in LeHavre and Guadeloupe, Plaisir is now based in Miami. She was awarded the Southern Prize and State Fellowship Florida in 2021.
