BRIANNA BASS: DREAM QUEUE
Frequency Arts / 516 Tremont St. August 2, 2019 - August 8, 2019
Brianna Bass
Dream Queue is an exhibition of new chromatic paintings by Brianna Bass.
As light bends at the edges of the concrete, its transformations testify to the untapped sublime in our daily matrix. Flare, phosphene, and spectrum are neither objects nor emptiness, both immediate and infinite. Structural, procedural painting allows ephemerality to be transcribed impersonally by completing its own inner systems. The painted object asks nothing of the observer, the ephemeral is solidified without becoming petrified.
Brianna Bass is a painter currently living and working in Knoxville, Tennessee. She received her BFA from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga in 2013. She is a cofounder, writer, and curator for Mineral House Media, an online residency platform designed to connect and elevate contemporary artists.
