AMANDA BRAZIER: FIELD BELOW

St. Andrew's Center / 1918 Union Ave. November 7, 2021 - November 7, 2021

Amanda Brazier

Join us for an evening celebrating soil, art, and agriculture! Gaining Ground Grocery and Mark Making are thrilled to unveil Field Below, two murals created by painter Amanda Brazier incorporating soils from the Chattanooga community and local farms and vendors of the grocery. Refreshments and light bites will be served on the covered porch outside the front sanctuary door of St. Andrews Center. We will gather in the St. Andrews sanctuary to watch a short film by Jerrod Niles documenting the making of the murals. Three local farmers will then share their soil stories: James McKissic, president of ArtsBuild and founder of Black Thumb Family Farm; Jess Wilson, president of the Southeast Tennessee Young Farmers Coalition; and Robin Fazio, Spanish teacher and organic garden founder at Baylor School and family farmer.

The Gaining Ground Mural Project is a Mark Making initiative, supported by ArtsBuild, Public Art Chattanooga, and Southeast Tennessee Development District.

Masks are required indoors for this event.
